Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine for Female Fertility
Supporting Your Fertility Journey
Navigating fertility challenges can be physically and emotionally demanding. Whether you are trying to conceive naturally, exploring options following a diagnosis, or going through IVF or ICSI, many women choose to incorporate acupuncture and Chinese medicine as a complementary support alongside their medical care.
With over 30 years of clinical experience, I work with women at every stage of the fertility journey — offering a space that is calm, unhurried, and genuinely focused on your individual circumstances.
Conditions I See In Clinic
Women come to me with a wide range of concerns that may be affecting their reproductive wellbeing, including:
- Endometriosis
- Disorders of ovulation
- Poly-cystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
- Tubal blockage
- Inflammation of the pelvic organs
- Fibroids
- Implantation issues
- Irregular or painful menstrual cycles
- Unexplained subfertility
- Recurrent miscarriage
Because Traditional Chinese Medicine treats the individual rather than the diagnosis, no two treatment plans are the same. Assessment and treatment are always based on your specific presentation, history, and constitution.
Where appropriate, I may refer you to other practitioners — including nutritional therapists or counsellors — as part of a wider, integrated approach to your care.

Acupuncture Alongside IVF & Assisted Conception

Many women going through IVF, ICSI, or other assisted reproductive treatments choose to include acupuncture as part of their wider support plan. Acupuncture is increasingly recognised within integrative fertility care, and a growing body of research has explored its potential role in this context.
The evidence in this area continues to evolve. As with all complementary approaches, acupuncture should be considered a supportive therapy — used alongside, and not as a replacement for, the medical treatment provided by your fertility clinic. I work in close collaboration with the medical pathway and am happy to liaise with your clinical team where this is helpful.
In practice, many women find that regular acupuncture treatment during the IVF process supports their general sense of wellbeing — helping them feel more settled, more resilient, and better able to manage the emotional and physical demands of the process.
